Job description:

The 2 lifeboats on MV Medi Tokyo were broken. We were requested not to change the old davit & winch, but find two new lifeboats to install on MV Medi Tokyo at Tianjin port, China. Total weight of one boat should not be over 3780kg. And the hook span is4800mm. 20 days prepare time to build the new lifeboats.

 

Story of the job:

MV Medi Tokyo was built in 1999 in Japan. All the equipment was made in Japan. The davit only can carry 3780kg lifeboat and the span hook is only 4800mm. That is the old type for lifeboat and not available for most of lifeboats in China market. 20 days to build 2 new lifeboats with corresponding certificate is not possible too. We have to check almost 10 biggest lifeboats maker in China for their stock. Fortunately, we find 2 stocks in one maker’s warehouse.
